The 75th World Foundry Conference, hosted by the World Foundry Organization, will be held in Deyang, Sichuan from October 25 to 30, 2024. This is the third time that the Foundry Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (hereinafter referred to as the Foundry Society) has hosted the World Foundry Conference, following the successful hosting of the 61st (1995, Beijing) and 69th (2010, Hangzhou) World Foundry Conferences. The theme of this conference is: the developing foundry industry. The conference aims to provide a platform for experts, scholars, engineers, and entrepreneurs in the foundry field to discuss the development trends of the foundry industry, exchange hot issues, share research results and advanced technologies, so as to promote the development and progress of scientific and technological research and application, and promote the development of the foundry industry.
       The World Foundry Organization (WFO) is a neutral organization representing the collective needs of global members and is recognized as the center of global foundry knowledge and technological innovation and progress. WFO aims to promote the development of the foundry industry by building a global platform for the exchange and cooperation of advanced foundry materials, processes, technologies and experiences. After nearly 100 years of development, official representative organizations from 30 countries have joined WFO, representing 90% of the world's casting production and serving as a weathervane for the development of the global foundry industry.
        The Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES) officially joined WFO on behalf of China in 1978 and became the only official representative of China in the organization. It organized Chinese foundry experts, scholars and enterprises to actively participate in WFO activities, and hosted the 61st and 69th World Foundry Conferences in Beijing and Hangzhou in 1995 and 2010 respectively, making China's foundry shine on the world stage.
         FICMES has enhanced China’s status and influence in WFO by participating in the organization and management of WFO, undertaking and being responsible for the daily work of the working committee, and actively organizing and carrying out a series of international academic/technical conferences and inspection and exchange activities, strengthening the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese foundry workers and enterprises and their foreign counterparts, and promoting our foundry enterprises to step onto the international stage, which has greatly promoted the development and growth of my country’s foundry industry.
